Quarterly Reports

In accordance with the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) reporting requirements, Paul Mitchell The School Salt Lake City provides the following quarterly disclosure of funds received and distributed under the CARES Act, CRRSAA, and ARP Act.

All HEERF student emergency grant funds have been fully distributed to eligible students. No institutional funds remain unspent.

Use of Funds

Paul Mitchell The School Salt Lake City received Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grants under the CARES Act (Section 18004(a)(1)), the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. In accordance with federal requirements, at least 50% of CARES Act funds were used exclusively for emergency financial aid grants to students.

Funds were distributed to students experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of the COVID-19 national emergency. Eligible expenses included food, housing, course materials, technology, healthcare, and childcare. The school prioritized students demonstrating the greatest financial need, including those who were Pell Grant eligible.

Under CRRSAA and ARP, additional funds were distributed to students with exceptional need, including students who were not previously eligible under CARES Act criteria. The school maintained records of all distributions and submitted required reports to the U.S. Department of Education in accordance with applicable deadlines.

Student Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for HEERF emergency student grants, students were required to meet the following criteria:

• CARES Act: Enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree or certificate program; eligible to participate in federal student aid programs under Title IV of the Higher Education Act; not enrolled exclusively in online programs prior to March 13, 2020; not incarcerated; not a non-immigrant visa holder; not a DACA recipient (under original CARES Act guidance, later expanded).
• CRRSAA: All criteria above, with expanded eligibility to include students who were not Title IV eligible, including international students, DACA recipients, and students enrolled exclusively online.
• ARP Act: Broadest eligibility — all students enrolled at the institution regardless of Title IV eligibility, with priority given to students with exceptional need.

Students applied for emergency grants through the school's financial aid office. Applications were reviewed on a rolling basis, and awards were determined based on demonstrated financial hardship and available funding. Awards ranged from $500 to $2,500 per student depending on the nature and severity of the financial hardship documented.

Reporting Compliance
